CLASS CONSTITUTION
1. TITLE
1.1. The title of the Association shall be the HUNTER MEDINA CLASS ASSOCIATION.
2. OBJECTS
The object of the Association is to promote and develop the interests of the HUNTER MEDINA class. In particular:-
2.1. To maintain the one-design character of the HUNTER MEDINA through an accepted set of Class Association Rules, while enabling gradual improvements to the sails, rig and deck layout etc in order to keep up to date with developments in other classes.
2.2. To co-ordinate and manage the affairs and rules of the Class.
2.3. To make recommendations of the control of such matters to clubs, the Hunter Boats Association, the RYA and other bodies.
2.4. To promote Class racing and sailing generally in the Class.
2.5. To provide a forum for members to exchange information and ideas about the HUNTER MEDINA.
3. MEMBERSHIP
3.1. Full membership shall be open to any owner of a HUNTER MEDINA. In the case of joint ownership, only one of the owners may vote at an AGM.
3.2. Associate Membership shall be open to all individuals, clubs or organisations interested in the HUNTER MEDINA Class.
3.3. Membership will be dependent upon a satisfactory application and payment of the current subscription fee.
4. FINANCE
4.1 The Association shall be financed by annual subscriptions from members, from grants or donations, or from sponsorships so long as any conditions attached to grants or sponsorships are agreed by the membership.
4.2 The amount of the subscription shall be determined annually by the Committee.
4.3 The Association shall have a bank account, and all income and expenditure made to or from the association shall be made through this account, so far as is reasonable. There shall be a Finance Policy to establish how payments are made and authorised, and this policy shall be approved by the membership in general meeting.
4.4 The Association shall not borrow money except with the permission of the membership in general meeting.
5. MANAGEMENT
5.1 The affairs of the Association shall be managed by a Committee of not less than 3 or more than 8 members.
5.2The Committee shall be elected at the Association's Annual General Meeting by the vote of the Full Members.
5.3 The Committee shall appoint out of their number a Chairman, Treasurer; Secretary, Webmaster and any other officers that may be considered necessary.
5.4 The Annual General Meeting of the Association must be held no later than Thirteen Months after the date of the previous Annual General Meeting.
At least three weeks' notice of any General Meeting shall be given in writing to all Full and Associate Members of the Association.
6. ACCOUNTS
6.1 Accounts shall be properly kept for all income and expenditure, and a set of accounts to include a Balance Sheet and Income and 6.2 Expenditure Account for the year to December 31st shall be prepared annually and presented to the Members in the following Annual General Meeting.
7. COMMUNICATION
7.1 The Committee shall establish a website or other electronic forum for the communication of information and views to and from the membership.
7.2 The Committee shall be responsible for ensuring compliance with current Data Protection legislation.
